Our Mother's Medicine chose me before I chose it

“Our Mothers’ Medicine” was born on a rainy night in Jaffa, on the night I was born.
Even though I was not aware of it at that moment, the path of my life began to be written:
I am Ruby, a clinical aromatherapist, spiritual man and master in healing with the subconscious and remedy medicine.
The only one in the country (!) who combines ancient medicines from the magnificent Ladino culture, with research based aromatherapy.
I treat pains of the body, the mind and the spirit and fix disruptions in luck, in order to bring deep energetic balance.
When I was born, my mother held me in her hands and without thinking twice, said to my father:
“I will call my gemstone Ruby, because he will grow up to be a special person”.
Being the youngest child to a Bulgarian mother and a Sephardic father from Jerusalem, I grew up in a house where there was a mix of languages: Spanyol, Bulgarian, Arabic and Hebrew, but with me they insisted on speaking Hebrew, out of a sense of Zionism. “You will speak Spanyol when you grow up” they told me during my childhood, that is a language for adults.

“Our Mothers’ Medicine” continued to grow roots within me, as at home we learned both science and faith, both knowledge in manual labor and culture and art, both moving with progress and respecting the ancient tradition. And the main thing, to respect others and always strive to do good.

The first fragrance I remember is of the MAJA perfume a perfume with the scent of carnation flowers “Clavellina” that my mother received as a gift from my father after she gave birth to me.
On the bottle there was a decoration of a Spanish woman dressed in a red dress and holding a large fan.
Carnation flowers are also known as “the flower of love” and “the flower of the gods”, named after their ability to balance the body, mind, spirit.
They induce a feeling of tranquility, open the crown chakra and create an open channel between the person and the upper worlds.

I learned “Our Mothers’ Medicine” from my mother from a young age, when she taught me to make perfume from rose petals, exactly in the way she prepared it when she was a little girl.
My mother also taught me how to understand people by observing their facial features, how to read shapes in coffee, how to read palms and how to develop intuition and empathy. When I was startled or fell ill, my mother rubbed “Colonia” on my stomach and back or dipped a cloth in Raki (Arak) to reduce the stomach ache.
And sometimes she even did “Livianos” for me (a ceremony with lead to drive away fears and the evil eye)
And all sorts of other “Curas de Mujeres”; women’s medicines.

“Our Mothers’ Medicine” continued to sprout within me and I drank with thirst from the spring of knowledge of the adults around me.
Over the years as I matured, different people loved to come consult with me and receive from me a “little potion” from flowers, which I prepared to fix what was broken in their lives.

Out of the strong desire to help, I studied clinical aromatherapy and finished my studies with honors.
After I completed my aromatherapy studies, I continued to study touch therapy and in these studies too I excelled.
After that I learned to concoct perfumes, with professional teachers from the United States.
Today I find the way to combine my extensive knowledge with the traditional medicines I learned from my mother’s house, in order to create for my patients a new, stronger and better reality.

“Our Mothers’ Medicine”, became a way of life in 2014, in which I officially opened my business, where I offer a variety of natural and energetic products based on mothers’ medicine and the Ladino tradition, for the treatment of a variety of situations of stuckness, physical energetic mental.

“Our Mothers’ Medicine” is a holistic approach combining elements from the ancient women’s medicine of Spanish Jewry with modern techniques. The treatment focuses on restoring balance to the body, to the mind and to the spirit, and provides tools for coping with a wide variety of challenges.

I teach people about the medicines and beliefs from my mother’s house, and thereby continue them so that they will not be forgotten from the world. I also serve as a mentor for my patients, directing and guiding them, what is called in Spanyol “Preguntadero” and giving wise advice, for a good life.

The two most important values that my parents taught me in life are: faith and optimism,
And in the help that I extend to people they are expressed.
Like mom always tells me in Bulgarian:
The secret to a good life is “Gorei gladei, bistro gladei” “Look high, see clear”.

“Our Mothers’ Medicine” was born from my immense love for my private mother and I invite you to be healed through it and receive empowerment from the mothers of us all, because all that they wanted for us was that we be healthy and happy.

Yours, Ruby Yehuda
